The State reports that the South Carolina Supreme Court has ruled that the implementation of sales tax holiday for guns was unconstitutional.

The bill was hotly contested as being a silly idea, but the court took issue with the discount being attached to what was mainly an energy-saving bill.

The holiday would have happened on Thanksgiving weekend.
