North Charleston opposition to more rail remains staunch

Charleston County's governing body is backing up North Charleston's stance that putting rail near the waterfront won't stand.

The Charleston Regional Business Journal writes that Charleston County Councilman Elliott Summey (also the mayor's son) has penned a resolution, and now The Post and Courier reports that the full county council has voted up a recommendation against more rail.

North Charleston's Mayor Keith Summey has promised to make life dificult for port plans if statehouse politicians continue to push for running more rail through the city for use at the port.
