After Pearlz Oyster Bar had been operating for years until 2 a.m., The Charleston City Paper writes that the bar is now fated to close early after it was discovered the building is only zoned for business until 11 p.m.

Zoning laws combined with opposition from residents over the loud late night East Bay Street patrons have forced the city to tell the business at a May 5th meeting to close it's doors at 11 p.m.

Read about how Pearlz, downtown residents, and the City Council responded in this article from Charleston City Paper.
