Lowcountry Obama group evolves into political grassroots groups

The "Grassroots Call To Action Group" is holding weekly community meeting in West Ashley to discuss all ranges of political topics from local to international.

The group is non-partisan (though, there's some disagreement on that point), and it evolved out of a group that pushed to help elect Barack Obama -- and it's just what many Democrats were hoping for: That the political momentum sprouted by Obama's campaign would keep moving.

We'll see if it's still there in four years.

Every Saturday at 11 a.m. in West Ashley at Alchemy Coffee, 11 Magnolia Road.

You can get more details by e-mailing grassrootscalltoaction [at] gmail.com or calling (843) 810-0088. The Post and Courier has a lot more background on the group.
