Alligator hunter leaves mess for Lake Moultrie resident

In one of the first problems of the newly OK'd alligator hunting season, someone has shot a Lake Moultrie alligator and left in the back yard of Dale Hawkins.

The case strikes of unusualness, because not only are hunters supposed to have a permit, dispose of their kill and tag it, it's prohibited to use a gun while hunting an alligator. Only a "bangstick" may be used to kill the alligator after it has been brought under control. That requirement makes three bullet holes somewhat unusual.
