CHARLESTON, SC (October 8, 2014) – Out of Hand and the Old Village announce the Share the Harvest celebration, an evening celebrating 20 years of The Art of Creating and the revitalization of the Old Village Merchant District. The event, hosted by The Art of Creating’s event planning company Ooh! Events, will feature live music, food from local vendors and family activities. Local businesses along Pitt Street will open their doors to guests in true block-party fashion. Donations from the event will benefit Basket Brigade, a Charleston, SC nonprofit dedicated to brining the community together to feed families in need at Thanksgiving.
The evening recognizes the transformation seen in the Old Village Merchant District following the launch of The Art of Creating in the community. Lisa Thomas, founder of The Art of Creating, is credited with driving revitalization efforts along the now-iconic Pitt Street.
“I view myself as a caretaker of these special places for a moment in time. Breathing new life into them, treasuring the unique characteristics and respecting the value they bring to our landscape,” said Thomas. “This celebration is not just the anniversary of The Art of Creating. It’s our opportunity to celebrate Old Village as a community and enjoy what makes it such a special place to live and work.”
