Update January 29: It looks like our leaders are taking more time off to "save us money."

You know, I just don't get it. Sure, it's gonna save us some cash. But if our state can run itself without the legislators around, why do we even have them?

Hey, politicians: Forgo the cash, but still do the job. It's partly your fault our state is in this mess.

Grumble.

First reporting: In response to a massive budget crunch, State lawmakers are tightening their belts by forgoing pay, cutting expenditures, and ... taking 10 days of unpaid leave?

So, let me get this straight, the answer to the state's budget crisis caused, in part, by inadequate planning, is for the pilots of our state to spend fewer days at the helm?

Good grief.

Take the salary cut, but don't forget to fix and prevent this mess from happening again.
