Moncks Corner town leaders passed a first reading on the proposed fire station in Foxbank Plantation.

Foxbank Plantation is less than a decade old and has over 1,000 residents. When there's an emergency warranting firefighters, the Whitesville Rural Department responds to the community, but for many residents, it's simply not close enough.

There are other residents that oppose the station's proposed location, near Foxbank's recreation/amenities center; these residents believe that the community amenities should be located there instead.
