P&C likes school closing proposals

The Post and Courier is largely supporting the Charleston County School District's efforts and methods to gain dollar efficiency through a school "redesign." An excerpt from their editorial:
The alternatives presented in the consolidation plan are based on hard data, though Dr. McGinley pointed out that "it wasn't totally about money." She re-emphasized her resolve "to make things better" for students whose schools are closed, recognizing that her plan has to consider more than the bottom line.

So far I, too, have largely liked what I've read about the school district's methods, but, I'm not a parent.
