On October 3, 2012, South Carolina Highway Patrol stopped a man driving a tractor on S.C. 38, near Interstate 95 at 1:30 in the morning. 

The tractor did not belong to the allegedly inebriated man but to the City of Conway, where the tractor did not get reported as missing until six and a half hours after the man was arrested. The City offered a reward for the wear abouts of their tractor that was jacked from New Road. Thanks to some keen, month-long detective work, authorities were able to deduce that the stolen tractor was indeed the same tractor found nearly 60 miles away. 

The man was not charged with the theft of the tractor as of yet.

• How does a suspected drunk guy drive a tractor for nearly 60 miles from Conway to Latta late at night and into the next morning without getting pulled over sooner?
• Did he have to stop and refuel?
• What was so important in Latta that one would drive a stolen tractor the whole way there?
• Did he stop for more road beers or was his buzz that good that it lasted a 2.5 hour tractor drive in the cold night?
