While strolling with his family on Folly Beach on Saturday, former Councilman and Mayor pro tem of Folly Beach, Charlie McCarty, stumbled upon what he feared to be a human heart.

Later that same day, police received another call reporting that intestines had been spotted on the beach just a few hundred yards away from where the heart was discovered.

According to New 2 Charleston's article, Department of Natural Resources and Folly Beach Police both claim the heart is too large to belong to a human; however The Charleston County Coroner says they will not figure out what the animal is.
