France honors local man for WWII heroics

Stephen M. Carney of Mount Pleasant was awarded the for his help in liberating several cities in France while fighting during World War II.
The Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur (the Legion of Honor) is France's highest merit for civilians and soldiers.
