Charleston parking ticket writer dispatched to ticket own vehicle

The scenario goes like this: A paralegal working in an office on State Street called and reported a car parked more than 30-minutes in a loading zone. When the parking enforcement officer showed up, she became irate when she realized it was her own vehicle that had been reported.

No ticket was issued.

Get the story at The Post and Courier.

The city's director of parking enforcement has warned the officer not to park in loading zones again. But, given the coast of fuel, maintenance, and the scarcity of places for cars on the peninsula, why was she not using a bike in the first place?

Update January 5: The final word comes in an editorial form The Post and Courier about how inane the whole situation was.
