Upstate Episcopal diocese elects new bishop, controversy ensues

The Episcopal diocese that represents the upper half of South Carolina has elected a new bishop who is seen as part of the less-traditional side of the church.

The election of Rev. W. Andrew Waldo is likely to cause chaffing with the diocese that represents the lower half of South Carolina, the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. That diocese recently said it had had enough with change in the Episcopal church.
