S.C. Police promise crackdown on video poker resurgence

Saying a wave of illegal video poker has been creeping back into the state, the State Law Enforcement Division promises a crackdown.

For those that don't recall, video poker was once commonplace across the Palmetto State, but after a prolonged public battle it was outlawed.

Even so, some lawmakers still advocate for its return and, as illegal things tend to be, the large and obvious machines have managed to hang on.  The State has a solid report on what's up (read it here.)

On a related note, back in March, SLED arrested seven people in a Lancaster video poker bust and in July there was the first big story that brought the issue to light in our area.
