Joe Riley Park serves as drop-off point for flood relief

Joe Riley Park is helping out victims of flooding out in Iowa by serving as a drop-off point for nonperishable items for the Cedar Rapids Flood Relief Fund. Throughout the current five-game homestand, you can drop off relief items at the ballpark.

From Charleston City Paper:

Fans who enter The Joe can offer their items at the GEICO Guest Services Booth in the park’s concourse area, which will be air-shipped to the flood-stricken areas on Monday, June 30.

The effort is being spearheaded by Lowcountry native Michael Kasey, whose son, Travis, lives in Cedar Rapids. Michael Kasey currently serves as a staff member at AJ’s Sports Bar & Grill on James Island.

All items collected at The Joe during this homestand will then be taken to AJ’s as part of the mass shipment that will be sent to Cedar Rapids. Fans who wish to take their donations directly to AJ’s may do so as well.

If you want to know more, you can call Michael Kasey at (843) 270-1136 send him an e-mail at mike@kaseygraphics.us.
