The lengthy heat spell in Charleston is really getting into the news now.

The Post and Courier has some details about a mover who apparently died from being overheated, a mother arrested for leaving he child locked in a car on King Street, and tickets given for locking dogs in cars; take a read here.

Meanwhile the National Weather Service says not to expect today to be any better: They're warning of a heat index up to 114 and possible severe rip currents, particularly around 2 p.m.

Oh and those high temps are expected to stick for a while.
