On Tuesday evening, a massive fire destroyed two homes and damaged at least two others on the island community of Dewees Island.

Firefighters from Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant, Awendaw were carried in by boat (there's no bridge to Dewees Island) to help extinguish the blaze which broke out around 9 p.m. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
