Carnival Cruise line stepping up their community outreach, fundraising

Instead of simply pumping tourist dollars into Charleston's economy, Carnival Cruise line is partnering up with MUSC's Children's Hospital to bring in $50,000 in donations and services.

The money given to the Children's Hospital will be used on two new laptops and four patient-friendly entertainment systems. In addition, performers aboard the ship will perform for the children throughout the year and 1,000 of those elaborately made onboard towel animals will be given to patients.

Carnival has even more community outreach and fundraising in the works and The Post and Courier has the story.
