Adopt-A-Teacher program brings community into the classroom

Helen Rickard

Myrtle Beach Intermediate is reaching out to business and community leaders to help explain to students how skills learned in the classroom can apply to real world scenarios.

They are calling the program Adopt-A-Teacher because the community can support teachers by donating their time. If someone wants to be involved but can't spare the time, other donations can be made to the school as well. WMBF has more details and a video package. See it all here.

Myrtle Beach Intermediate is also a part of a pilot project in Horry County Schools for The Covey program that focuses on core values of leadership.
