More nighttime lane closures on I-26 this week (updated)

Update January 20: It seems the best thing to do is to post the weekly updates to this one story. Bookmark it, if it's news you want.

The Remount Road on-ramp onto I-26 eastbound will be closed tonight, beginning at 8 p.m. This is to allow work to be performed on placing concrete barrier wall adjacent to where the ramp ties into I-26.

It will re-open to traffic before morning rush hour.

First reporting: I have mixed feeling about whether or not to post these weekly updates, if you really want me to post them, do let me know in the comments. You can also sign up to get these updates straight from the horse's mouth: e-mail ecapps [at] usgroupinc.com

At any rate, here's the latest on I-26 work:

Motorists using I-26 can look forward to more night work with lane closures in both directions from Saturday night through next Thursday night.

Concrete barrier wall placement will be taking place in both directions as well, weather conditions permitting. Also, lane re-striping is scheduled to take place on I-26 Westbound, so be sure to watch out for new traffic patterns, as well as those motorists who may not be used to the new traffic patterns.

During all lane closures, the posted speed limit will be 45 m.p.h. Please do your part to help keep this work zone safe by slowing down, obeying the posted speed limits and traffic signs, as well as by watching the traffic ahead of you closely.

As always, we appreciate your cooperation and your interest in the I-26 project.
