CARTA bus stops to get electronic arrival notifications

The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority is building 24 new bus stops that will have scrolling electronic marquees that tell those waiting how much longer it is until the next bus arrives -- and  how late it might be running.

At $625,000 the GPS-powered system carries a hefty price, but it's still pretty dang nifty. Now if they can just intergrate that data into Google's mass transit maps.
