Track stimulus spending in S.C. as it gets started -- yet stimulus already 'failed'

Two months after declaring the stimulus funds weren't working, S.C. Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom has established a Web site where you can follow the spending of the funds -- of which about 1/6th have been spent thus far.

So, two points here.

First is to point out the tracking Web site. Which could be slicker, but the fact it exists at al is remarkable. Hop over to it.

Second is to point out how Eckstrom appears to have his fingers crossed that this will fail. Yes, Eckstrom's office is an elected position. And, yes, he's a Republican.

Sending out positive vibes about the stimulus probably wouldn't make it more effective, but it would be nice if he had some confidence in our economy getting better.
