Timmonsville mayor suing Sanford over budget veto

Mayor Darrick Jackson of Timmonsville has filed a lawsuit against Governor Mark Sanford, claiming that a veto he approved directly interferes with his ability to provide safe water to Timmonsville residents.

The lawsuit stems from the governor's veto of $25 million from the state Budget and Control Board, which turned around and transferred $13 million from the Rural Infrastructure Bank for immediate operating expenses.

The Post and Courier has the post on the pending lawsuit as well as link to actual 56 notice of complaint to the state's Supreme Court.
