In an optimistic State of the City address on Tuesday night, Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. had many good things to say about the City of Charleston's outlook and economic growth in the months to come.

Riley's speech focused on the progress and new developments in the city including new parks, historic restoration projects, and the addition of more officers to the police force. Mayor Riley touched upon upcoming projects that will bring addition revenue and prestige to the community such as the planned biotech and and life sciences businesses that will be housed on land between Lockwood Boulevard and Hagood Avenue.

The prognosis for Charleston's future is looking very bright.
