Haley picks Charleston's Daune Parrish as new head of Parks, Rec and Tourism

Governor Nikki Haley has nominated Charleston's 25-year veteran of the tourism industry Daune Parrish to lead the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

Parrish is chairman of the S.C. Hospitality Association and president of Premier Hospitality Group, a hotel development and management firm he founded in Charleston ten years ago.

Haley has already given Parrish his first major project: finding a title sponsor for the annual Heritage professional golf tournament on Hilton Head Island.
