Haley appoints husband to help pick new SLED chief

In a controversial move, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has appointed her husband to a panel that will select the next State Law Enforcement Division chief to replace outgoing chief Reggie Lloyd.

To get an idea of what the panel is all about, members include: former state Attorney General Henry McMaster, SLED's chief pilot Robert Brickley, and Probation and Parole Department Director Kela Thomas. Throwing Michael Haley into the mix might be justified, but he does appear to be under-qualified.

The Post and Courier has the AP article along with a poll on the public's approval on the matter. You'll find both here.
