PACT's replacement dubbed PASS

Any good product of government work needs an acronym, and the people have chosen to call the South Carolina’s new standardized testing system "PASS."

The S.C. State Department of Education says:
The winning name – Palmetto Assessment of State Standards, or PASS ... won out over four other finalists in a statewide vote that drew more than 6,000 people to an online ballot on the South Carolina Department of Education’s web site.

And there was much little rejoicing.

PASS is replacing the states old standardized test, PACT.
