Opposition thickens against Old Village sidewalk dining

A proposal that would legitimize the serving of food and alcohol to sidewalk diners in North Charleston's Olde Village has hit long feared resistance.

Finally, citing the Olde North Charleston Merchants Association support, he noted that the group stepped up last year. "Our merchants sponsored a fish fry as a fund raiser for the high school," he reminded those at the Council hearing, "because the parents of students would not get involved."
