CARTA looks to bump up fares, reduce service (update: price up, service cuts on hold)

Update August 19: The Post and Courier writes that the fare increase was approved while plans to cut service to save money were put on hold pending further analysis.

First reporting July 20: Thanks to a drop in Charleston County funding, the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority is looking to reduce routes and services, and bump up fares 16%.

$1.50 fares will now run $1.75.
