Board member: Spend CARTA's stimulus funds on local projects

Perhaps expectedly, support is growing to not spend $4.7 million in stimulus funds to replace 12 aging CARTA buses.

Read more stories on this subject in our CARTA topic page.The Charleston Regional Business Journal is reporting that CARTA board member Paul Thurmond is asking the public to spend that money on projects that could create up to 500 local jobs.

It sounds pretty good to me.
