Ni Hao Y'all! China wants to golf in Myrtle Beach

 

Update June 26, 2012: Last year the City of Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes took a trip to China. You can read the original story below. While we may have poked a little fun at the trip, it may have paid off.

According to Al Blondin of The Sun News, some folks in China have expressed interest in creating a cross promotional partnership with a focus on golf tourism using our World Am connections. While the write-up makes no connection between the Rhodes visit and this new development, Rhodes was involved in the response package sent to China from Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. First Report: Mayor John Rhodes is headed to China for both marketing and economic development purposes.

The Sun News write-up is quick to point out that Keller Williams Realty is sponsoring the trip for Mayor John Rhodes. If that seems odd, it's because Jane Zheng of Keller Williams Realty is originally from Shanghai and she believes there is something to be gained from establishing a relationship with the Chinese.
