Original post: The rain seems to have pretty well left us, but the remnants of Fay are still hanging around and are expected to drift back through the western Carolinas, bringing needed rain to the upstate. That could bring more sogginess to us, but it looks like the bulk is behind us.

By Thursday we should be in the clear from Fay.

Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service:
Today: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming south between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
