It's raining in Charleston, and everyone loves a chance to kayak Market Street (Updated)

Image by Amanda Click East Bay Street is a favorite spot to stall out cars when it rains heavy in Charleston.

With 2.3 inches of rain recorded on Tuesday, Charleston was swimming.

Despite the general havoc the storm has wrecked on business, tourists, and the occasional foolhardy motorist that tries to drive through too much water — most folks have been good sports and a few have floated their kayaks.

Check out a roundup of the best imagery we've seen so far at the bottom of this post.

The worst should be behind the Charleston area by now, however the forecast through at least Thursday calls for rain, rain, and more rain. In all and another inch could fall on Wednesday bringing chances for a second, smaller round of flooding.

As for practical advice: If you can't see the bottom of the road, don't drive through that "puddle" and if you don't have to absolutely drive, don't.
