Boy dies after first swim

It's called dry downing and it's what killed 10-year-old Johnny Jackson.

On Sunday, he and his sister had pleaded for their mother to let them swim, and they both would leave the pool fine. But Jackson had swallowed too much water and when he later lied down it trapped his breathing passages in his lungs.

Later his parents would find him blue in the face with white foam at the mouth.

Every day (on average) 10 people have accidental drowning deaths in the U.S. Consider this an excellent reminder to read up on drowning.
