Fish from S.C. waterways show elevated mercury, contamination levels

State health officials are concerned about the levels of mercury and contamination in 28 of South Carolina's waterways.
Read more stories on this subject in our mercury topic page.Ten of the 28 are in the Lowcountry, and officials are warning people not to eat certain kinds of fish found in these waterways.
The Post and Courier has a short story, and S.C. DHEC has details on what fish you shouldn't be eating from what local water bodies. They've also created a map of contaminated water bodies.
