Cross burning allegedly by teenagers as crime of tomfoolery

Nearly a week ago three white teens were reportedly witnessed burning wooden crosses in Meggett. None of the teens are suspected of association with any organized hate groups, so what would have prompted them to desecrate this prominent religious symbol?

The Post and Courier reports:
"They indicated that it was a bored, mischief type of thing,” the sheriff said during a press conference. “We don’t believe that this is part of anything greater than three young people involved in some mischief."

Two of these bored teens have been arrested and are possibly facing jail time and a hefty bail for this misdemeanor.
