City of Charleston charts a drop in violent crime

The Post and Courier writes that Charleston saw a 12 percent decline in violent crime in 2008, that's a bigger drop than in many other cities its size across the nation.

Read more stories on this subject in our crime topic page.Early this year, North Charleston stated that it saw a 15 percent drop in violent crime, with fewer killings, rapes, robberies and assaults than in 2007.
