Chase, dragging nets $1,030, cocaine

Jesse Thompson, 25, was stopped by police about 3:30 p.m. When he seemed overly nervous an officer asked that he get out of the car, he refused and rolled up his windows, trapping the officer's arms in the car.

When Thompson drove off he drug the officer across the parking lot until he final fell out several feet later. Thompson was then chased be police down Ashley Phosphate Road where he eventually stopped and surrendered to police.

A search of the car uncovered $1,030 and an unspecified amount of cocaine.

Thompson, of Leslie Street, is charged with possession of cocaine, assault on a police officer while resisting arrest and failure to stop for blue lights and siren and has been released as he posted a $25,000 bail.
