An arson wave: Improving fire investigation in Charleston

As Charleston continues to grapple with a string of arsons, The Post and Courier is looking into how the city handles and documents arson investigations.

Touching off the case of a 2002 fatal suspicious fire at 563 Rutledge Avenue, the paper looks into shortcomings of the Charleston Fire Department's old approaches to fire investigations, and improvements made over the last year.
