In wake of civil liberties trail, Berkeley jail tries to explain stance

As a trial date continues to near in the U.S. Justice Department and ACLU case against the Berkeley County jail over alleged First Amendment violations, the jail is continuing to try and explain its stance.

It's something the jail has done many times, but with each passing try, a defensible argument becomes more coherent, and that will likely be increasingly important, as the jail may face an injunction during the trial to suspend its policy of barring most books and magazines.

I'll shoot you over to The Post and Courier for the update, and over here for the past coverage.
