Seniors are the fastest growing age group in Horry County

We're getting a little more gray in the past 10 years according to the 2010 Census.
The over-65 crowd outpaced the younger age groups by jumping 56 percent since 2000. The 85 to 90-year old segment almost doubled. Accomodating an older population isn't without special considerations. Thngs like community programs and emergency services are impacted slightly more.
