Today is the day that Boeing breaks ground on the $750 million 787 assembly plant, the largest industrial investment in South Carolina's history.

The plan is expected to create around 3,800 jobs within seven years, but Boieng's influence will reach much farther than just job creation.

The Post and Courier has a nice article looking at what Boeing will mean for the Lowcountry's future.

Go take a read.
