Bi-Lo secures funds for bankruptcy transition (updated: bankruptcy transitioned)

Update May 14: Mauldin based Bi-Lo grocery chain has met all closing conditions of its plan of reorganization and plan of arrangement, and after more than a year under bankruptcy protection have emerged from Chapter 11.

First reporting: Good news for fans of Bi-Lo grocery stores, the company has secured $125 million to help during restructuring of the company.

According to the press release, the Greenville-headquartered company has "215 supermarkets in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee and employs approximately 15,500 people." The company has  some 15 stores in the immediate metro area.
