The downside to the rare promise of snow in Charleston is what it's doing to travel plans. 

A quick check of Delta showed most flight for Friday, February 12, into Charleston as canceled while most U.S. Air flights were still on. If you've got travel plans, double check them.

And don't forget to exercise caution when driving.
