During the month of April, Charleston's hotels recorded an 86% occupancy rate and marked a 3% increase in the total amount of nights sold.

This is the 14th consecutive month that occupancy rates and revenue per available room have continued to rise.

As for April's statistics, hotels in the East Cooper area saw the largest year-over-year gains while the highest occupancy rate was in the peninsula-area submarket.

The Charleston Regional Business Journal has a detailed post on April's numbers; read it here.
