Public frets likely closure of Rosebank Farms produce stand

Fans of fresh produce and those that just like a bit of classic site seeing are becoming troubled over word that Rosebank Farms at the entrance to Kiawah and Seabrook islands is due to close at the end of January 2011.

The scenario is this: Farmer Sidi Limehouse's rapport with landowner Betty Stringfellow has become troubled. Stringfellow is approaching 90 and says she wants Limehouse gone so her affairs will be in order should she die and pass on land to an ailing family.

To see what's up, there's a report in today's Post and Courier but I found an earlier one over at the Charleston City Paper to be generally much more well rounded; read it here.

Also worth a shout out to the first piece on the story over at The Island Connection.
