The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Mt. Pleasant (350 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.) recently received the Contractor/Developer Award from Community Pride of Charleston County for its dedication to eco-friendly practices.

The Contractor/Developer Award is awarded to an organization that utilizes the most environmentally-friendly management practices. So what's Holiday Inn doing that makes it worthy of such an award? Tons, including:

• Water-saving toilets
• Saline swimming pool
• Rainwater collection
• Native plant landscaping
• Motion-sensor lighting in public areas and guestrooms
• Recycling programs

And this isn't the only award the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Mt. Pleasant has received due to its green practices. The business has also been recognized by the South Carolina Green Hospitality Alliance, the Charleston Green Fair, and The Green Bride Guide.
