Charleston ranked number 4 for best place to launch a small business

Portfolio.com has done its annual roundup of the most vibrant small business markets, and Charleston jumped from number 18 to number 4.
Why number 4? A 12% growth in population from 2003-08, 6% growth in private sector employment over the last few years, and 26.8 small businesses per 1,000 residents.
We were runner up to Austin, Texas, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Raleigh.
