On May 13, 2011,  Myrtle Beach High School officials saved a student's life using CPR.  In recognition of their efforts, the student's parents urged that a proclamation be issued to honor them.  Last week, it was.

This situation raises the question, would you be prepared to help?  CPR and first-aid classes are offered routinely throughout the Grand Strand and, most often, open to the public.

Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach has classes on October 22nd, November 19th, and December 17th, all running from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the HealthFinders Center in Coastal Grand Mall, 2000 Coastal Grand Circle. Waccamaw Community Hospital is hosting classes on October 27th and December 22nd at Wachesaw Conference Center at 4367 Riverwood Drive, Suite 160 in Murrells Inlet from
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Adult CPR is covered but the emphasis is on pediatric CPR. The fee $10.00 per couple or $5.00 for individual. Pre-registration required call 520-8490 or register online.  You can click here for more information.

Be prepared.  You never know when these skills can make the difference between life and death.
